First, I hope you all liked the April Fool's information yesterday.
For my good news, I got a call from QuikTrip about an interview.
For my bad news, it's in Lawrenceville. Yeah. Old Peachtree Road NW. So, I'll be headed up there tomorrow for my 12:15 interview. Dad wasn't going to go with me, but he decided otherwise and will ride with me, but I have to drive. Which is fine with me.
So, I've been writing this story, and I don't really know what to call it yet. It's a superhuman story (I don't use superhero because that's copyrighted, ya know). The main character is Chase, and he doesn't start out with any superpowers, because his power is to absorb other powers. So, he doesn't really have a weakness either. This isn't going to be Smallville--I don't want meteor rocks hanging out where the bad guys can get at 'em.
It's at 154 pages right now, and it's pretty much done, I'm just cleaning it up right now. I really, really, really want to publish something before I die. And if it can't be my Soldier story, then I think this story will be it. It's a good length, not boring, and flows well. One of my better-written longer stories.
I thought of the suckiest power you could ever have as a superhero, too. What if your only power was to recognize classical music within the first two notes?
How bad would that suck? You find out you have a power, and that's the only thing you can do? *laughs*
So, I'm going to insert that character as a funny side point in there somewhere. I'm not sure where yet, but I'm GOING to have him in there. I guess the only thing you could do with that is make a lot of money on bets, I dunno.
I'm going to try and draw today, as well. I've got this cool idea. Link from the Legend of Zelda, but not in his normal tunic and hat. I want to sort of "modernize" him. We'll see how it comes out, anyway.
