Punk Lolita Outfit Progress

Huzzah, I'm almost done with my outfit!

Photobucket pics of my skirt and shirt stuff. Lots of pics to show progress. :D Hope you like! I've asked on the EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita) boards on cosplay.com, and they like it very much. It's a cute punk lolita look. *happy*

It's also my first skirt ever made. Very worth it though, and it's very comfy. You won't find THIS at Wal-Mart!

Okay, this is my first time ever making a skirt, much less a punk lolita skirt. Here's what I used for my materials:

1) Red/Black plaid fabric ($3.59 on Amazon.com)
2) skull crossbones material ($0.94 handkerchief at Wal-Mart)
3) red scrap fabric for rips (had it laying around)

I don't own a sewing machine, so I did this thing by hand *guh*. It is still in progress--I want to add a bit more straps/belts/pins, stuff like that. I also want to add another layer of lace.

I noticed that on a lot of punk skirts, they would have that bit of fabric on the side that actually hung lower than the skirt. So the thing with the lone skull on it in the piccies is that.

Yes, I know the lace isn't the best, but I'm going to double it up so it won't look too bad. So please don't hurt me, lol.

Let me know what you think so far. I don't have a petticoat yet, so keep that in mind. :D

6 (yes, I know. Bad lace--going to put another layer so it won't look so bad)

I raided my closet and came up with an army bag that I forgot I had. I got this at a discount at the Army/Navy store due to there being a rather large and heavy lock attached to it. Rather weird, but it was on sale, so I got it. Glad I did because there is a plethora of straps on it that I was able to undo

It's a huge lock!
Lined Up

Now lemme show you the shirt I'm gonna wear with it. This is a modified shirt that I had laying around. I cut slits up the side of it and used some leftover plaid fabric to have it hang down lower than the shirt hem.

See?

Then I added some strips of fabric and an arm band.

Fancied it up a bit
And Again

Since I can't order the boots I want right now *cry*, I have to go with a pair of black boots I already have. I'm gonna modify them a little bit. They aren't platform, but they aren't heeled either (I hate heels).

I made my own socks/leggings out of some No Boundaries leggings (cut the legs off) and some strips of red fabric. My camera insists on making everything orange and grey instead of black and red BTW. :D

Here's my hair.

I really like the hat this girl is wearing. :D I might make something like that.
