Back to the Humanoid Paper Roots

"No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space."

Well, I've been papercrafting lately. It's a great stress reducer. Of course, it might not seem like it to some, cutting out hundreds of tiny pieces of paper, then glue/taping them together to form a 3-d object. It's not unlike the maddening 3-d Star Wars Puzzles. Remember the Star Destoyer? Yeah, I gave up when I got done with the thrusters in the back.

So anyway, I've comlpeted a papercraft of Stitch, Edward and Alphonse from Full Metal Alchemist, and I'm in the process of completing an R2-D2 from Star Wars.

You might be wondering what the "humanoid" reference is in the post title. Well, when I print out these pieces, usually consisting of 5-9 pages each (aprox.), with about 50-100 pieces each model, I cut them out. And to avoid going completely insane, I watch Star Trek, because you don't need to watch it to know what's going on (the original ST anyway--never seen the new ones and don't want to, really).

Why Star Trek? Well, I admit, I love anime as well. But, you have to read subtitles in anime, and I can't read and cut at the same time. And don't even think about telling me to watch 'em in English. So Star Trek it is.

It always amazed me to see so many humanoid aliens out there in the galaxy. Why are they all humanoid? I want to see more floating blobs of cloud attack people and suck their red blood cells out! I want to see some fat-sucking vampires....oh...wait, wrong show. (Lol, if you get that, good for you!)

So, here I am, cutting out tiny pieces of paper and watching Star Trek. Ah....good times.

My next big papercraft project is the Wicked Wench. Yes, that is paper, folks.

Do this papercraft first, if you're new to the papercrafting world, though: http://paperkraft.blogspot.com/2006/03/got-milk.html
