New stuff and I took a hit....

Just got the computer fixed again.

*whew* Crisis was barely avoided though. Once I knew I had no protection, I went down to Wal-mart and got Norton Internet Security 2008. It was SO worth shelling out the money.

Besides the "c'mon, install! Fix the thing already!" yells from my room, my roommate claims she knew exactly what time it installed and fixed everything. There were a few tense moments where I thought it was too late, though. Took two hours for it to completely clean out some of the major viruses.

She heard the excited cry of "SHINY! IT WORKS!" come from my desk.

There is nothing like the sweet view of Norton saying "viruses detected and resolved."

At one point, it asked me if I wanted to remove the smaller viruses from the computer. I rolled my eyes and said, "OF COURSE I want to remove the viruses--why do you think I went out and BOUGHT you?!"

Here's some of the more colorful viruses I had. The computer geek in all of us squirm at the fearful mention of some of these names. How do you people without virus protection last 5 minutes on the net?

Hacktool.Rootkit
ErrClean
Magic AntiSpy (THAT was a VIRUS?! Ugg...)
Trojan.Vundo

Among MANY other smaller viruses....mostly attacking the registry--not good--as well as stealing passwords and such (which I quickly went through and changed a few of my more delicate log-in passwords).

Ug...sleep sounds good right about now. I've been working on this almost all day, trying to stay one step ahead of any new resulting problems.

I think there is still a virus lurking around here somewhere, because my compy is running a tad slower, so I'm doing a system defrag, as well as a full system restore after that.

And I'm going to do two scans a week.

And I just realized something set my clock back an hour....


Anyway, that stuff aside, here's a cute little "Link Hat" I crocheted for my little cousin, David. :D He begged me to make him one, so he's wearing the only one I've ever made and won't take it off. He even took it to show-and-tell on Friday, and he said that "all the boys wanted to try it on. But not the girls."
